WELCOME TO THE CENTRE FOR ADVANCED MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS AT CARDIFF

CAMSAC is an interdisciplinary research centre set up to build directly on Cardiff’s existing strong reputation for internationally leading manufacturing related research bridging the engineering and business disciplines. CAMSAC has evolved from and extends on the programme of work initiated within the EPSRC funded Cardiff University Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre (CUIMRC). It will take an holistic, interdisciplinary approach, working closely with industry partners, towards the study and development of new concepts in Advanced Manufacturing Systems via an extensive, complementary portfolio of research, knowledge transfer, engagement and teaching activities.

Advanced Manufacturing Systems

CAMSAC considers manufacturing from the perspective of an integrated whole, consisting of human behaviours, organisational structures, management processes and the latest in innovative manufacturing technologies and ICT. In parallel with new technology development, CAMSAC also considers the generation of new business models that will enable effective implementation of novel manufacturing systems and technologies.

Practical Solutions

CAMSAC aims to provide practical management and technical solutions to the UK’s vendors, users, and future users of Advanced Manufacturing Systems (AMS), aimed at helping achieve a distinct and sustainable advantage in their development, implementation, operation and decommissioning.

Academic Excellence

CAMSAC aims to further develop Cardiff’s reputation as an internationally recognised hub of academic excellence in applied technology, business process re-engineering and innovation management.
